September 13th, 2013 by in Entertainment with 6,045 Views

A cult film is one that has acquired a large fanbase that repeatedly views it, quotes dialogue and actively participates. The origin of these films is traced to the controversial, suppressed films that used to have highly dedicated fans.

Barbarella (1968)

This movie features Jane Fonda, a secret agent working across the planets despite her trouble with having clothes on. It was directed by her husband at that time, Roger Vadim and produced by Dino De Laurentis.

    The DUDE!

Lebowski, Clerks and Donnie Darko are PRIME. my favorites of the list, by far. What about Welcome to the Dollhouse? How about All I Wanna Do? CLASSIC!

  • Michael Flash

One of recent times that I think should be on this list, is “The Boondock Saints”. That has a real good cult following. The sequel, wasn’t so great…

  • Bill

While “The Boondock Saints” is a great movie I think the sequel really ruined everything it had going for it.

  • Jessica

The Boondock Saints and Donnie Darko are among my favorite movies! They are both awesome.

  • Bill

I think Donnie Darko my be one of the dumbest movies ever made. Anyone who can make sense of that stupid rabbit is dumb!

    • Michael Flash

      I’ve never seen Donnie Darko!

  • Bill

Clockwork Orange is a 100 times better then Donnie Darko!

  • Dennis Wayne Malcom

What?! No “Rocky Horror Picture Show”? One of the biggest cult classics of all time. This list has no value without that movie.

  • Kristen Trott

I’d like to add a couple – “The Breakfast Club” “Back to the Future” and “Goonies” just to name a few.

  • MD Golam Rabbani

I haven’t seen all of those movies. But I enjoyed watching “The Evil Dead”. If someone ask me what is the worst film to me in this category, I would say “Hellraiser” including all of sequel made of that so far.

The Evil Dead is the one I’ve only watched among these ten cult movies. Even I watched the 2013 evil dead new edition as well. 80’s one was freaking but 21 century evil dead is made with lot of suspense and that’s why I love this horror movie.
