We all love technology and appreciate how much technology has done to change the world. There are quicker modes of communication, doing business and a great industrial revolution. Have you heard of the world’s 5 fastest computers? With the recent rapid technological advancements, computers are faster and more sophisticated. Presently, here are the 5 fastest computers in the world:

1. Tianhe-2 Super Computer

Developed in China, the Tianhe-2 super computer takes the top position as the world’s fastest computer. It overtook Americans Titan Super computer which was initially standing at the top.  Its speed is 33.9 petaflops meaning that it can perform quadrillions of calculations every second. The computer was manufactured by the University of Defense Technology in China. Some people also calls this computer the Milky Way 2.

2. The Titan Super Computer

Initially, the Titan was the world’s fastest computer until the emergence of Tianhe-2. The Titan was developed by an American company known as Cray and currently resides in the National Laboratory at the U.S Department of Energy. The speed of this computer stands at 17.6 petaflops.

3. The K Computer

The K Computer is from Japan and once held the title of the fastest computer in the world with a speed of 10 petaflops. This computer is currently residing at Riken Advanced Institute for Computational Science in Japan.

4. The Stampede Super Computer

Manufactured by Dell, stampede super computer makes it to the fastest computers in the world with a speed of 5.2 petaflops. The computer is found in the United States and stands among the largest open computer systems in the world. This means that any researcher wishing to use it for research is allowed to connect to it.

5. Juqueen Super Computer

Found in Germany, Juqueen Super computer is developed by IBM and gets its slot as the fifth fastest computer in the world with a speed of 5 petaflops. It is also the most powerful computer in Europe.
