September 19th, 2013 by in Health with 691 Views

Everybody is always looking for new low-fat and low carbohydrate diets, but what about sugar? People consume large amounts of sugar on a daily basis without even realizing it.  Americans eat an average of 130 pounds of sugar a year.  Below are several common foods or drinks consumed by people on a daily basis and how many grams of sugar they have as well as how many teaspoons that equates to.

1) Mott’s apple sauce-1 small serving cup (113 g)=22-23 grams of sugar.  This equals 5.24 teaspoons of sugar.

2) Nutri-Grain cereal bars=12 g of sugar=2.86 teaspoons of sugar

3) Arizona Iced tea (16 oz)=48 grams of sugar.  That’s 11.43 teaspoons of sugar!

4) Gatorade (16oz)=28 grams of sugar=6.67 teaspoons of sugar

The applesauce is made mostly of sugar, then? OMG. Ridiculous. It’s sweet, but I usually go for unsweetened. Tastes a lot more legit. To make it taste even better, though, I usually add cinnamon. So delicious.

Food is the fuel for body. If you take good food with low sugar your body will be fit. Mountain Dew is my favorite soft drink. I drink it now and then. Previously I didn’t know it contains such amount sugar?

I honestly admit that this is true, sometimes we tend to eat/drink more than one, even other food has so much sodium in them
