8 Awesome New Intelligent Car Features

October 7th, 2013 by in Design with 1,794 Views

Thinking about getting a new 2013 vehicle in the near future? You may want to consider waiting a few months for the 2014’s to come out or even a few more years as there are many new features that improve safety, comfort, and reliability coming.

1) Adaptive Headlights

Light bulb shapes have changed and cars do not have to have round headlights anymore.  This is allowing for more variation in where headlights are able to go as well as what they can look like. They have been developing new headlights that will swivel as your vehicle is turning, allowing you to see easier as you go around a corner. It is also possible to get lights that will automatically dim as oncoming traffic is approaching as to not impair the oncoming driver.

2) Improved Camera’s

In 2015, it will be required that all new vehicles have back up cameras, however, they are also coming out now with camera’s that are on the side of the cars and and front as well. This is beneficial as it will help reduce blind spots when turning or switching lanes. The front cameras that can be found on Volvo’s and Subaru’s will also have the ability to apply the brakes when coming close to hitting a pedestrian.

3) Auto Lane Keeping

Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz have been working to come out with new features that allow leverage cameras and sensors to check the road ahead and make minor steering and brake adjustments in order to keep your vehicle in the correct lane. Other car companies that have a version of this feature have the car give a little beep in order to alert the driver they may be veering out of the lane.

4) Car Vacuum

The 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan has an installed car vacuum in the rear storage area with attachments, replaceable filter and canister bag with a hose that is able to reach every area of the vehicle. This feature would be very convenient for those with children as minivans can get dirty very quick.

The car vacuum is a neat Idea, but I don’t know how effective it could be. How powerful is it, and how do you clean it out? Will it really be more helpful than using your house vacuum or going to the local car wash?

Just when you don’t think cars can be updated anymore, they always find features. It’s amazing how far cars have come just in the past 5 years. Basic model cars that could have sold for $18,000 are now going for $24,000. Makes you wonder if all these features are necessary.

Cars are now a part of daily life. Adaptive Headlights seems to me a great idea. Headlights are the eye of vehicle. The more it will improve the more better for us.

I am a car Lover and especially high powered cars.Anything which is aimed at improving the effectiveness of my car is highly welcomed.

I particularly like the iKey and the Collision Warning,i wish my next car model have these features.

I like a lot of the features on this article because it’s about safety. A lot of new car features are things we don’t even need! Four years ago, you could buy a new car for $18,000. Now, a base model car is about $23,000. I know everything goes up in price, but base models are now featuring things that aren’t even needed. I like the vacuum, that could be used by everyone. Better mirrors is excellent as well; too many people getting lost in the “blind spots.”
